Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is funding allocated to schools for the purpose of raising the attainment of pupils from low income families. It is used to help schools provide targeted support to help children reach their full potential.

Funding is allocated for children who are “Looked After” by the local authority and for every child who is registered for free school meals. It is very important for all children who are entitled to the funding to be registered so they are able to access the funding they are entitled to.

Physical Education (PE)

At St Mary’s we believe that Physical Education (P.E) is vital in its contribution to pupils’ physical, social and emotional development and health. As a rights respecting school, we believe that all children have the right to relax and play, as well as lead healthy lifestyles. Our PE curriculum focuses on 4 strands: Physical Me, Social Me, Thinking Me and Healthy Me, which enables children to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding so that they are able to perform with increasing confidence in a range of physical activities. We provide children with inclusive, engaging and challenging PE lessons where each child are inspired to succeed and are able to reach their full potential. Above all, we aim to foster enthusiasm and enjoyment of PE and to instill the love of physical activity in all of our children for a healthy, active life.

How do we ensure the best resources have the best impact?
